Tyr's Tre

Tyr's Tre plays out of Eau Claire, Wisconsin, officially the Kubb Capital of North America. Tyr's Tre was first formed and played in the 2014 Rockford, IL Swedish Historical Society Tournament. That day a hard-fought tournament was won and a team was formed. That first team consisted of Eric Anderson, Aaron Ellringer, and Scott Graham. Later in 2014, these three were half of the American team Claire Mni that finished 2nd in the Kubb World Championship in Rone, Gotland, Sweden.

After the Rockford Tournament, Eric and Scott teamed up with Cory Shay and played in the Eau Claire Kubb League and other tournaments. In addition to these three, depending on the tournament and availability of players, other players would join the team. The next stage of Tyr's Tre consisted of Eric and Cory playing the vast majority of ECKL events together for three years. During that stretch, they finished first or second in every ECKL league regular season and playoff. In Fall 2019, Eric started playing with his friend Kristen, stepdad Ray, and Scott in league as Tyr's Tre.

In 2020, Eric joined up with his oldest daughter and friend Kristen for the current version of Tyr's Tre. Currently, Tyr's Tre consists of Eric, his two daughters, and Kristen. Cecilia, Eric, Kristen, and Maja play in the weekly (spring, fall, and winter) Eau Claire Kubb League, other local tournaments, and are hoping to travel outside of the Eau Claire area to play more. The goal is to compete for podium finishes and championships, have a lot of fun, and continue to meet more of the wonderful people in the kubb community.

In August 2022, Tyr's Tre won the Eau Claire City Kubb Derby and became the first team in the world with a majority of female players to win a tournament.

Tyr is a Norse god and Tre means three in Swedish. Tyr's Tre translates to Tyr's Three.

Eric is the founder and director of the U.S. National Kubb Championship, founder and editor of Kubbnation Magazine, and started the Dallas Oktoberfest Tournament and the Rockford Swedish Historical Society Tournament.
